Who Knew?

Who Knew that apples were a favourite of four-legged spiders? This little guy chomped on this for a good 20 min or so.

And you just let it eat the apple for 20 minutes, you didn't throw it outside or kill it? You are SO much kinder than I would be, if the situation were reversed.

Oh, and EEEEEWWW!

Maybe apples contain the nutrients necessary to grow back the other four legs. ;) BTW, photographing this whole thing is something I might have done. I am proud of you.

Poor little guy lost his other four legs:o(

I didn't know they liked apples, so now we can lay out apples to feed the spiders:o)

Ok, so... here's the story... I was cleaning up the living room, and the spider was on the apple on the floor. And I noticed it, but didn't pick it up right away, 'cause something else distracted me... (can't remember, but probably something shiny) and then about 20 min later, I got back to cleaning, and picked up the apple and the spider was still munching it... then I took a picture and threw the whole thing in the garbage. Spider, apple and all. No composting, so letting the spider outside. Just into the garbage. I figured if it had lived through having half of it's legs ripped off, it could probably survive for a bit in the garbage, and since it was eating an APPLE, it probably wasn't too much of a threat if it happened to find it's way out of the garbage can. There you go. That's the whole story!

Spiders need water. Apples are juicy. Cats need toys. Spiders can be toys! That's my assumption of how it got there and in such a state.:)
