Business, and a new TV, oh my!

We've moved up a tax bracket!

Ok, not really, but it feels like it! While our bottom of the line, low powered and smashed Kia Rio V is being fixed at the shop, we're driving around in a Subaru Forester! It's huge. And powerful. And it feels good to drive. But that's probably because we haven't had to fill the tank yet.

We've been trying to TCOB lately, and it's been stressful. We figured out the re-financing thing, and apparently even if the house had be listed as a three bedroom instead of two, it would have had the same value. I'm not buying it, but I've let it go. It's not worth fighting over it. But, our mortgage broker decided he'd pay for half of the appraisal out of his own pocket, so that's nice!

We were supposed to come into another $3000 as well, but it looks like that's not going to work out. When we bought our car, there was a cash-back voucher that was supposed to mature after 3 years. Well, we did all the crazy paperwork, got it notarized, AND, paid for the insurance for the registered mail, and IT GOT SENT BACK TO US TODAY! After visiting the dealership, we found out that the company involved has gone bankrupt! Now, I don't know if we're going to be able to get anything out of this whole thing, but we're going back to talk to the manager once he comes back from vacation. I hope we can at least get our notary and mailing fees back! Maybe we can get some sort of $3000 voucher towards our next vehicle purchase or something. (It looks like there's a mini van in our future!)

So, tonight, it's date night. Armondo and I are having an in-house date. I'm picking up Chinese, and I'm renting a movie, and after the kid is in bed, we're going to have a nice evening together! I'm even turning off the computer!

***

Oh, and guess what Armondo is doing right this second? He's out purchasing a flat screen TV. Apparently there's a good sale on right now, so he's off to buy a 32 inch Toshiba LCD with built in DVD player. We'll mount it on the wall, and because the player is built right in, we won't have to mount anything else, or get any sort of stand, which means we'll be able to save just thatmuch more space in our living room! And, you know, today is the perfect day to buy, (except that, you know, it's going on our credit card, 'cause that $3000 didn't materialize) because we just got our cable back on yesterday (by choice), and TODAY, Cherry figured out how to turn the TV on and off, on and off, on and off. I'm already annoyed, and can't wait to get the TV up on the wall!

And, that my friends, is all I have to say today. Armondo is home now, and I've got a shiny new TV to look at!

Wow, the TV sounds cool. Bummer about the car rebate, that sucks. Seems like it should be illegal, too. Enjoy your date night!

Mini vans are a good thing in that 2 kid stage. If you have the option to get captains seats in the second row I highly recommend you go for it as they tend to minimize the "you're on my side" whining that drives one nuts after 15 minutes of a 15 hour drive.

Too bad about that car rebate, hope you at least get the money you are out back.

I need a TV like that, then I would have mroe room in my living room.

Have fun on your date!!

That's what I want -- a shiny new TV to look at now that I've cancelled everything we were going to do this weekend (and pissed a few people off) since all I'm doing is surfing, reading and eating anyway. Ah ... paradise.
